This Vespers Curriculum is Dedicated to James Ellison

As a student, athlete, pastor, community leader, educator, colleague,  father and friend, Jim Ellison has provided energy, creativity, courage, imagination, and joy to the world in his tireless efforts to lift up and live by the gospel.  His commitment to the diverse community of faith-based young adult volunteer programs has built a trust and a community of cooperation that has made creating this resource possible and joyful.

Formerly the President of the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, Wayne is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA.

 

Editor and Chief Writer: Sarah Christopher Neidhoefer

Formerly a Campus Minister at Santa Clara University and the Assistant Director for the Catholic Institute for Lasallian Social Action (CILSA) at St. Mary's College of California, Sarah is a writer, lay minister, educator, and part-time preacher, working with churches and communities in the Napa Valley.  She served as a Jesuit Volunteer in Philadelphia in 1993-94 and received a Master of Divinity from Yale University in 1997.

 

David Bowles is a Program Director for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Baltimore, MD. He has been involved with youth and young adult volunteer formation for the last 12 years. Serving with and now working for JVC, the largest Catholic Volunteer program, David has developed and implemented programming that engages the JVC's four key values of social justice, community, simple living and spirituality. 

Ryan Byers is the Coordinator of Young Adult Ministries at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, IN. He is married with one almost four year old son and another child on the way. He loves Guatemala, Montreat, NC, playing soccer, reading excellent books, and cultivating community. 

Joshua Case is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where he received a Master of Divinity.

Dana Cassell is a Staff Volunteer for Community Living and Vocation with the Brethren Volunteer Service in Elgin, IL.

Stan Dotson formerly the Dean of the Life Works Learning Partnership at Mars Hill College, Stan is the Director of In Our Elements, "a set of resources and services designed to help individuals and groups reach that creative space where they are doing what they love, while making their contributions to a better world."  Find out more at http://inourelements.com/ 

Katie Givens Kime 

 Ariane Hoy is the Senior Program Officer at the Bonner Foundation in Princeton, NJ.  She had previously served four years as the Executive Director of Campus Outreach Opportunity League (COOL), a national non-profit that educates and mobilizes college students to be involved in service, activism, and social justice.

Kathy Lee is the Site Coordinator of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Young Adult Volunteer Program in New Orleans, LA. Kathy is also working with Christian Renewal New Orleans to develop intentional communities and new opportunities for young adults to grow in their faith through service in the Greater New Orleans area.

Pete Nunnally is the Program Director of Living With Purpose: New Orleans, a young adult service program of Episcopal Community Services of Louisiana (ECSLA).  He also serves as the Director of Volunteer Programs for ECSLA, and will oversee development and management of Living With Purpose: Baton Rouge in 2012.

Daniel Ogle  is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where he received a Master of Divinity. He is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and currently serves as a pastor in Tennesee.

Christina Repoley is a graduate of Candler School of Theology at Emory University, where she received a Master of Divinity.  Christina is currently on staff in the Faith and Service program of the Cousins Family Foundation and is also the founding Executive Director of Quaker Voluntary Service (QVS).

Krista Showalter-Ehst is currently a student at Candler School of Theology, where she is in her third year of the MDiv program. She is a member of Atlanta Mennonite Fellowship, and is passionate about being involved in her local church community, as well as taking part in the larger Mennonite body as it continues to discern its calling in a changing world. Krista is also interested in the intersections between sustainability, food justice, and faith communities. After she graduates from Candler, Krista and her husband Tim will return to her home area in Pennsylvania, where Tim will work as a full time organic vegetable farmer, and where Krista will discern her role within the Mennonite church and local community.
